The Eleventh CEDR Mediation Audit

Biennial survey of commercial mediator attitudes and experience in the United Kingdom.

Mediation Audit 2025

This marks the eleventh occasion on which CEDR has undertaken a survey of the attitudes of civil and commercial mediators on a range of issues concerning the profession. These surveys are aimed at establishing market performance, mediator experience and attitudes towards a variety of ongoing and emerging challenges and opportunities.

The areas we looked at include:

  • Personal background
  • Mediation practice and experience
  • Professional standards and regulation
  • Priorities for the field in the coming years

In this insightful discussion, Graham Massie, primary author of the CEDR Mediation Audit, and Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho, Chair of the Civil Mediation Council, delve into the key findings from the 2025 CEDR Mediation Audit. Drawing on a rich body of data and professional experience, they examine the current state and evolving landscape of mediation in the UK.
